Local Market Wish List

Whatever you are considering growing, have a plan for who is going to buy it before you plant it! Consider growing what the market needs, not just what you like to grow. Investigate what the local markets are lacking, pay attention to when products appear or disappear, look at what sells out in the first few hours of a farmers' market, and find a market window you can fill. And don't hesitate to talk to other growers, chefs and market managers.

We have started your research for you by maintaining a Local Market Wish List (2012) with an up to date list of what the local market and produce managers tell us they need. However, please know that our list will never substitute for you doing the legwork yourself.
