UCCE Demonstration Landscapes
Located at the South Coast Research and Extension Center, the UCCE Demonstration Landscapes are comprised of three unique outdoor classrooms utilizing various Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce water use and improve water quality. The landscapes are designed so visitors learn firsthand how to use and implement landscape BMPs.
Featured on the May 9, 2011 Irvine Community TV Spring Garden Episode, a few of the BMPs on site include several types of irrigation systems and controllers, permeable hardscape options, and low water use plant material.
As one of the UC Davis Arboretum All-Star plant and climate zone trial locations, guests have the opportunity to view a collection of All-Star plants recommended for their tolerance to drought and summer heat.
Guided tours are available to the public by appointment only.
Be sure to mark your calendar our annual open house event on October 5th, 2013. Check back for event updates.
