Sudden Oak Death

In addition to Sudden Oak Death, Janice Alexander also works with an inter-agency team addressing the recent goldspotted oak borer invasion in Southern California and the risks of forest pests spreading via firewood through the California Firewood Task Force.

Please visit our website, www.suddenoakdeath.org. Our program works closely with the California Oak Mortality Task Force to provide education and outreach on Phytophthora ramorum through websites, workshops, and symposia. We also assist researchers and act as a liaison to tribal nations.
In collaboration with Marin County 4-H and other partners, we also have developed a series of youth education programs, including "Can My Tree Catch the Flu?" which used interactive activities to relate Sudden Oak Death to human health. See the full list on our Environmental Education Resources page.
