UC ANR Program Teams Meeting
February 7-8, 2012
Rec Pool Lodge, UC Davis

Who should attend:
Anyone (including ANR and non-ANR personnel) who wishes to be part of one of the four program teams that will be meeting. Funding will support the travel of ANR academics only. Program reps are eligible to attend. We hope that most ANR specialists ande advisors in youth, nutrition, and community development will attend and be part of one or more program teams.

Intended outcomes:
• Clarify what program teams are all about (worker bees of initiatives, communities of practice)
• Discuss possibilities for ANR competitive grants and new positions
• Identify next steps to advance HFC initiative objectives
• Time for participants to bring their own work, issues, puzzles, challenges for discussion
• Engaging with Program Council

Monday, Feb 6

Money Talks Workgroup meets from 2 - 6 pm at the Hyatt Place at UC Davis. Charles Go is the workgroup chair.

Tues. Feb. 7
AFRI Nutrition Workgroup meets from 8 - 11 am in the Plum Room of the DANR Building. Lucia Kaiser is the workgroup chair.

10 am-11 am Registration open

11 am-12:30 pm Joint Opening Session [Dave Campbell]

Review goals/agenda
Introduce program team chairs
Restate purposes/formats of program teams
Tying program teams to HFC initiative outcome objectives
Calls for new ANR grants and positions

12:30-1:30 pm Lunch

1:30-5:00 pm Positive Youth Development program team meets upstairs (Youth Science Literacy Team encourage to attend)
California Communities program team meets downstairs (Healthy Behaviors for Preventing Childhood Obesity Team encouraged to attend)

5:00-5:15 pm Break

5:15-6:30 pm Update with Program Council (grants, program teams, etc)

6:30-8:00 pm Drinks/Dinner

8:00-10:00 pm Optional meeting time for program teams, workgroups, ad hoc groups, etc.

Wed. Feb. 8

7:30-8:30 am Breakfast

8:30-noon Youth Science Literacy program team meets upstairs (Positive Youth Development program team encouraged to attend)
Healthy Behaviors for Preventing Childhood Obesity program team meets downstairs (California Communities program team encouraged to attend)

Noon-1 pm Lunch

1 pm-3 pm Additional meeting time (as needed, all 4 program teams or sub-teams can meet; or use time to work on ANR grants or position proposals)

3:00-3:15 pm Break

3:15-5:00 pm Joint session

Hear reports from the four program teams (grants, positions, other)
Group discussion of position priority process
Other full group discussion as needed
