Youth Enrollment
The Nevada County 4-H Youth Development Program is primarily club based. These clubs are chartered under the auspices of the University of California.
You are welcome to join 4-H anytime of the year; although most of the project and club activities are held from September through May. Eligibility to participate in the local fair reflects participation in projects conducted during that time period.
1. Find a local 4-H Club. Click Community Clubs and locate a 4-H club in your area. Here you can find out what projects each club offers and when their meetings are scheduled.
2. If you have any questions about the club, contact the Community Club Leader or attend a Community Club Meeting. The meetings are generally held once a month. Pay particular attention to what interests you and your child. Ask for a copy of the Club Constitution and Bylaws, and any project rules they may have. This will inform you of any special provisions for attendance requirements, fundraiser participation, club community service projects, etc. Once you find a club that best suits your family...

3. It's time to enroll! Enrollment into 4-H is done on-line. The Youth Enrollment fee is $28.00. Adult Enrollment is $10.00.
Enrollment Help:
Once you have enrolled on-line, give required forms and enrollment fees to the Club Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator (VEC). As a member, you will select the project(s) you wish to participate in. Find out who is leading the project and when they meet. Your Project Leader will guide you through your learning experience.
PLEASE NOTE: The DEADLINE for enrollment to be submitted to the 4-H office is November 1st (postmarked or dropped off) to be eligible to show and/or sell an animal at the 2013 Nevada County, and earn a 4-H stripe and year pin. Review the Steps to Success 2012-13 Policy.
