Prospective Students
I encourage applications from students interested in obtaining research degrees in the field of conservation biology. I am interested in the forces that influence loss of biodiversity at all hierarchical levels from genes to ecosystems. Broadly, my research program involves ecological monitoring and restoration ecology, and study of cumulative impacts to watersheds, conservation easements, mitigation, and protected area planning.
I often take one student a year, and encourage applicants with a diverse background of academic and work experience to apply. I am interested in students who are self-motivated, independent, good communicators, and who possess a strong academic record and quantitative skills. If you are interested in applying to work with me in ESPM, please look at the department's Graduate Programs website, and consider the kind of work my lab does.
