Facilities

The Center's main office complex houses a small library, a meeting room, and office space for permanent staff and researchers. The all-purpose laboratory is equipped for a variety of standard soil and vegetative analytical tasks. A 950-square-foot (88 m²) greenhouse and a newly rebuilt 72-tank lysimeter complement plant sciences research. Livestock facilities include three sheep barns with working corrals, as well as feed storage facilities. Warehouses, feed storage structures, and mechanical, welding, and woodworking shops provide support for maintaining, constructing, and modifying facilities and equipment for research purposes.

The Center has a modern bunkhouse that is available for overnight use or stays of limited duration by graduate students, technicians, or others who need to be in residence at the Center. Bunkhouse use is restricted to individuals on official University business. A nominal fee is charged for use of this facility.

Three mobile residence pads are available at the Center for those needing to be in residence for longer periods of time, and who may wish to bring a mobile housing unit to the site. Additionally, seven permanent residences are maintained by the Center for long-term lease to UC personnel.
