2012-2013 Project Year-Hansen call for competitive grants now complete.
Competitive Grants Program
The Thelma Hansen Fund will finance research, education, and outreach projects through a competitive grants program aimed to support high priority issues, increase public awareness, and contribute policy-relevant outcomes addressing the importance and economic viability of agriculture in Ventura County. Typically $200,000 is available for project funding.
On-site Research Projects
The Hansen Agricultural Center provides land, labor, equipment, and facilities to researchers for small to medium sized plot projects. Facilities Description & Research Rate
Off-Cycle Proposals
In the event that funding is available, off-cycle projects will be reviewed. To proceed, please see Letter of Intent and RFP instructions.
Process for Submission
A new process has been developed that invites the submission of Letters of Intent as a firtst response to the RFP for both Competitive Grants Program and On-site Projects. Deadline for submitting Letters of Intent is Friday, January 6, 2012. Successful applicants will be notified by Tuesday, January 24 and will be required to submit full proposals by Friday, February 24, 2012.
