About Us

The Gold Spotted Oak Borer (GSOB) Steering Committee is comprised of Federal, State and Local agencies having regulatory responsibility for forest health and protection of natural resources within the County of San Diego. This committee has been assembled to collaboratively address issues related to GSOB infestations and isĀ taking action now, while the oak borer infestation still covers only a portion of the county, in hopes of reducing the scope of the insect's spread.
Our mission is to minimize environmental, social and economic impacts from GSOB by providing leadership, focus and organizational structure in addressing this emerging forest health issue in San Diego County; and by offering guidance and support to a larger coalition of public and private stakeholders working collaboratively to address GSOB issues throughout San Diego County.
