Family-centered learning is SMART!

Families at John Burroughs Elementary are learning about nutrition together! Mrs. Mata-Webb’s Kindergarten class is experiencing nutrition in a very interactive way! With over 65 SMART board lessons to choose from, parents and students learned about MyPlate and the five food groups during their monthly nutrition lesson. Students also learned about Building Strong Teeth by choosing “anytime dairy foods” vs. “sometimes dairy foods”! Thank you Mrs. Mata-Webb for helping to build and maintain healthy families and communities!

Viking Elementary

ReThink Your Drink Lesson –February 10^th 2012

Have you ever wondered how much sugar is in your sugar sweetened beverage? Sixth graders at Viking Elementary found out firsthand how much sugar they are consuming when drinking these types of beverages.

Students were asked to create posters based on what they had learned. Below, find some of their work!
