April 26th, 2013 - Researchers from the UC Integrated Pest Management Program announced that a new Pest Note is available on the goldspotted oak borer. This Pest Note contains the first official UC guidelines for managing the pest.
March 31st, 2013 - A report on the status of Sierra Nevada forests Central Sierra Cooperative Extension forestry advisor Susie Kocher was made public by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. The report describes the extent, character, and ownership of forest land in the region and data on fire, forest health and biomass/carbon storage.
March 18th, 2013 - UC Berkeley remote sensing specialist Dr. Maggi Kelly announced a two day workshop June 5th & 6th, 2013 to provide an overview of geospatial technology to natural resource practitioners and Cooperative Extension educators.
March 11th, 2013 - Forestry Specialist Dr. Rick Standiford announced a series of workshops on managing family forest land including developing written management plans using new UCCE e-learning tools.
February 28th, 2013 - Forestry Specialist Dr. Rick Standiford and Natural Resource Advisor Greg Giuisti will be hosting a webinar on Managing Family Forests in California: A Guide to Stewardship Planning to inform Registered Professional Foresters of the UCCE forest stewardship project and the educational tools used with landowners.
February 15th, 2013 - UCCE and the Nor Cal Society of American Foresters will be hosting a new on the Ecology and Active Management of Riparian Vegetation in Forested Landscapes on May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 19.
February 1st, 2013 - The UCCE Humboldt County office and the UC Center for Forestry are hosting a workshop on Redwood Region Forest Management and Market Opportunities in Eureka on March 6th, 2013.
