Outreach
Welcome > FasTrack & The Dried Plum > Outreach
Outreach activities will ensure that the economic and health benefits of the project will be realized. The community of stakeholders includes those in the dried plum industry (growing, packing, marketing, etc), regulatory agencies, plant breeders, consumer advocates and a broad base of consumers. Outreach to the industry is through meetings with industry representatives. Outreach includes regular interaction with regulatory agencies, formal training of project participants and industry representatives in science-based information on plant breeding and biotechnology. Consumers are served through inclusion of consumer advocacy group representatives as project advisors. Outreach to the scientific community is through attendance at professional meetings and submission of our work for peer-reviewed publication. The timeline below includes a schedule of some of these activities during the 5-year duration of the research project.
