Biography
I am a Graduate of Fresno State, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science in 1985 and a Master’s degree in Plant Protection in 1994. I was employed as a Staff Research Associate from 1985 to 1994 at UCCE, Fresno County. I have been a Farm Advisor, specializing in weed management, at UCCE in Fresno County since 1994. Through my career I have conducted hundreds of field herbicide screening trials to help develop new herbicide registrations for use in vegetables, row crops, orchards and vineyards, and non-crop settings. I was involved with the discovery of glyphosate-resistant horseweed in 2005 and hairy fleabane in 2007 in California and have helped develop management strategies for their control. Recently, I have been comparing weed efficacy using newly developed spray drift reducing-type nozzles.
