Teachings Assistantships
Entomology Department Applications for Teaching Assistantships
are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 academic year!
Applicants must be full-time registered graduate students with a grade point average of at least 3.00. Appointment will be made on the basis of competition among all qualified applicants.
Qualifications: Applicants will be selected on the basis of familiarity with the subject matter of the courses being taught, past experience, and potential in serving as a teaching assistant. Priority will be given to students in the Entomology Graduate Program. If two or more candidates appear to be equally suited for a given position, priority will be given to full-time graduate students who are within four years of their date of entry in a doctoral program.
Duties: Teaching assistants are expected to devote an average of twenty hours per week to teaching-related responsibilities, including duties such as attending classes, holding office hours, using audio-visual equipment, reading student papers, and assisting with preparing and grading examinations.
