In addition to providing training for people with specific roles in the Division, the University of California also offers training through U-Learn, an online learning catalog available to all UC Davis staff. Use the links in the catalog to explore topics and read course descriptions. Once you have found a course you wish to take, log into the UC Learning Center using your UCDLogin. Next, search the catalog for the course title to find and launch any of the courses. More opportunities: |

ANR's Learning Management System (LMS)
What is an LMS?
A tool that allows teachers to post information, assignments and even tests in a central location online where students can access them. LMS portals can also allow online students to participate in discussion boards, chat, IM, hand in assignments online and get grades. There are many types of course design. For example an LMS can also handle standalone courses where there is no interaction between instructor and student. The student studies the content, takes a quiz, and with a passing grade, gets a certificate. That's one version. And, yes, it can take credit cards, too.
ANR employs an LMS to handle online course delivery of topics for Division clientele. At the moment, the content is geared toward the people of California but in the near future, training materials will be delivered and tracked using the LMS for members of ANR.

You'll have to register to poke around, just as a student would. If you have questions, contact Steve Heindl.
Lynda.com
Don't forget Lynda.com is available without charge to anyone in ANR through their ANR Portal. Lynda.com is an online library offering training in a wide variety of software applications from Microsoft, Adobe, and dozens of other companies.
