Certainly there is a reasonable justification and need for this position. However, I was disappointed that the proposal ignores the need to affiliate the position with UC IPM program. Urban UC IPM program is very active and may provide support and resources for the success of this position. If ANR leadership decided to award this proposal then the position need to be affiliated in one way or another with UC IPM program.

Not all positions that have a pest management expertise need to be affiliated with UCIPM. This looks like more of an EH position with an expertise in weed science.
