The School of Veterinary Medicine faculty, coupled with extension personnel in the counties and specialists in other departments, has made important contributions to the interface between wildlife ecosystems and animal and human health problems. This position would help greatly in adapting basic research to practical application and education for land managers, those concerned with public health, and with animal health. This position could be of great benefit to the people of California.
