ANR academics need to increase their competency in utilizing social media for program delivery and evaluation. Thus, this position is timely and needed. I was disappointed to note that the PD focuses on engagement with other campus academics. Advisors are engaged in the community, understand community needs and how to frame communications with community members. Impacts of programs conducted by the proposed Social Network & Media Specialist and by Advisors would be enhanced via mutual engagement.

Having a specialist to assist HR programs with Social media will help advance UC ANR and UCCE positioning as we move more into digital communication and in connecting with others.
