Air Quality Districts
Air quality considerations in California have a huge impact on any project involving combustion. Air quality rules are managed by local California Air Quality Districts. The map below shows all of the California Air Quality Districts (it may take a short while to load all the information). You can open the map in a separate window by clicking here if you wish. Click on the shaded areas to identify the district and to see contact details. It will help you to identify which district you are in.
Early engagement with the Air Quality District is important to establish whether a project is appropriate for a specific location. Further contact details for the districts can be found on the California Air Resources Board website. Click Air Basins for a map showing air basin boundaries which are often different from air district boundaries.
