Posters as Flyers
Did you know that you can use the poster templates to create flyers?
Simply create the flyer layout that you want using one of the poster templates. When you're finished, change the size of the document by using Page Setup, located under the File Menu. You can save and print the flyer as a PowerPoint document or save the file as a PDF. These are examples of 8-1/2" x 11" flyers created for the Financial Caregivers series of publications and a related workshop:
4-H Fair Banners
4-H effectively uses Toolkit elements as a base for banners designed by a graphic artist for their booth at the State Fair. Want to see more? Download a zip file containing a gallery of 4-H State Fair banners..
Simple changes turn the color letterhead into a flyer banner. Here the letterhead information that normally appears on the upper right is deleted and Presto! You've got a flyer banner!
Toolkit Themed Excel Spreadsheets
Do you need to present reports in Excel and you want them to have the new brand identity? Marsha Campbell-Mathews developed these Excel templates that do just that. "My program involves developing spreadsheets and worksheets for clientele to use to manage their on-farm data. I wanted them to be professional and carry the UC brand but not so in-your-face as to be annoying and intrusive."
Note that these templates work only with Excel 2007 or later for PC, and Office 2008 or later for Mac.
Marsha has also developed a spreadsheet of Toolkit VBA color codes that you can easily copy and paste into Excel, Word and other Microsoft products. According to Marsha "This would be handy for just about anyone - I have this file open most days, so I can quickly select the color I need. I mixed some very very light shades of select SV colors to use as Excel and Powerpoint background shading, so they are included as well." We agree - handy indeed!
