Livestock Learning Lab Check-Out Procedure

Stanislaus 4-H has purchased the Ohio State Livestock Learning Labs for Beef, Dairy, Goat, Sheep and Swine. To see them CLICK HERE. These kits make great topics for project meeting and have sections such as Anatomy, Breeds, Conformation, Medicines, and Animal Handling. Each section of the Learning Lab requires a $100 deposit to take home.

Pre-registration required. Your leader and parent signature is needed.

Entries limited to 1 specie, single level. Must be present at Level One Showmanship to complete the level.

You must have passed the previous level to take any level above level one. Leaders may sign an authorization for members to begin testing at Level II instead of Level I, however this is not recommended.

The sessions are 9 - 9:45, 10 - 10:45, and 11 - 11:45 and popular sessions will repeat. Rabbit and Cavy Bread ID contests will take place between sessions.

ARBA Judge Melissa Magee will talk on basic needs and care of rabbits and cavies, She will also demonstrate how to trim nails.
ARBA Judge Ray Stacy will speak on how to pick your show / meat rabbit and he will also demonstrate how to tattoo rabbits

Small Animal Proficiency Program
The Small Animal Committee and the Leader's Council voted on and approved a new format for the Proficiency Levels. In place of the past Proficiency Day there is now a Proficiency Program that can be done through out the year.

Members who have participated in past Proficiency Days continue with their current level. If there is a question as to what level a member is on, you may email Jennifer Ambrosino at ambrosino5@yahoo.com. The committee feels this new format will help give project leader's goals for their members to obtain throughout their project.
