Sign-In 12:00 pm to 12:45 p.m.
Judging will start promptly at 1:00 pm
Please note: Members may enter once in up to 2 categories. The garments, accessories, and shoes for each outfit must be distinctly different. An item in one outfit may not also be used as part of another outfit.
Be prepared to give a short introduction to the judges about yourself and your outfit. Tell them things like your name, club name, why you chose this outfit and where you might wear it (1 minute or less)

A potluck snack bar (cheese, crackers, veggie trays, fruit trays, cookies, refreshments, etc) is planned between judging and the modeling revue.
Please bring something share.
Revue starts approximately 4 pm followed by awards. Primary members can arrive at 3 pm to practice modeling. (Primary members are not judged.)

Entry forms will be sent to Clothing, Textile, Sewing, Arts & Crafts Leaders. The event is open to all Stanislaus County members.
Please bring or mail to: 4-H Office, 3800 Cornucopia Way, Suite A, Modesto, CA 95358. Must arrive by 5 pm, April 10th. Include required attachments. Only complete and on time entries will be accepted.
Please type your commentary and attach it to your entry form. A separate commentary is required for each category that you are entering. Have someone read your commentary while you practice modeling. This will give you a better idea of how short or long you will need your commentary to be.

If you are a County winner, you may go on to the State Fashion Revue on May 25, 2013 at UC Davis. Registration is online at the link below. You will need pictures, swatches, and other required items with your State entry. State due date is May 11, 2013. Please review State entry requirements here:

DESCRIPTION OF CATEGORIES:
Traditional (Must be in a Clothing and Textiles Project)
- To showcase the member’s sewing skills and their ability to coordinate an outfit.
- Garment(s) sewn by the 4-H member
- Must be enrolled in Clothing and Textiles Project
2 Yard Challenge (Must be in a Clothing and Textiles Project)
- Using a 2 yard length of 100% cotton fabric, 44/45" wide, sew a garment and an accessory. You can use less fabric but not more for the garment and accessory. There is no specific pattern requirement. Additional garments to complete the outfit may be sewn or purchased.
- Take a "before" photo of the member holding the piece of fabric and an "after" photo wearing the outfit.
- Garment(s) sewn by the 4-H member
- Must be enrolled in Clothing and Textiles Project
Wearable Art/Embellished:
- Decorate a purchased garment(s) using arts and crafts techniques.
- Member must start with a purchased garment.
- Focus is on creative techniques and workmanship as well as fit and coordination of the outfit.
- No project requirement.
- Duct Tape entries are not eligible for this category.
Consumer Science/Purchased $19.99 Category:

Member demonstrates positive consumer skills such as decision making in purchasing and coordinating an outfit. The main focus is on value rather than cost.

Everything visible must be included in the purchased list including jewelry, socks, hair bow, etc. Undergarments and shoes are not included in the $19.99. Sales tax does not count.

Receipts are required, although they can be handwritten from garage sales.

Sources may include garage sales, consignment stores, thrift stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.

No project requirement.
Duct Tape Challenge:
-
Create a wearable garment out of duct tape such as a jacket, shirt, pants, skirt or dress. The member may choose to begin with a purchased garment or not. Additional garments, accessories, fabric, and materials may be added.
