Newly approved project, December 2011. River and stream restoration to reduce the temperature of the river. The river temperature is raised by the daily release of treated effluent. The raised temperature causes salmon eggs to mature and hatch sooner then there is food available for them. A variety of options were evaluated to lower the temperature of the river; planting trees and restoring streams was the proposal of choice. Read more about the program at: Click here |
