Marin Master Gardeners (MGs) are a trained group of 300+ volunteers who share their knowledge and skills with home gardeners and community organizations. Through educational outreach and community service, they work as non-paid staff members of the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), answering inquiries and providing research-based information on all areas of plant health and gardening practices to the public for free.

Bring your plant, insect or other questions to our Help Desk; we’re available Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - noon, and 1-4 p.m.:

If you have a sick plant, bring us a sample—a small branch with a number of leaves of what you need diagnoses. It's helpful to also bring a sample of a healthy portion of the plant if available. Be sure to seal samples in a plastic bag to avoid spreading any pests or diseases.
Click here for the form to submit with your sample. Please fill in as much information on page one as possible.

If you email us with your question, please be sure to tell us what type of plant it is, how old it is, how much sun and water it gets, if the problem just started or has been going on for some time, and whether you use any chemicals (including fertilizer) on the plant, and anything else that may help in diagnosing the problem.
