Introduction
The Instructional Systems Development group is a resource to help expand and explore the pedagogical efficacy of instructional technologies, both new and established. The CSIT instructional design team works to enhance the already-rich learning environment available to UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources constituents, the people of California.
Course Development
We can help you develop course materials such as posters, multimedia elements, eLearning units, and digital video & audio clips. Instructional Systems Development encourages an empowerment approach: our professional and student employees work with faculty and staff clients, teaching them how to develop materials for themselves whenever feasible.
The ADDIE instructional design model provides us with a step-by-step process for planning and creating training programs. The ADDIE design model is based on five components: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This comprehensive process will carry you all the way from "What do people need to learn?" to "Did people learn what they needed?"
Training
Sometimes a workshop is a better environment for learning about new technologies and the skills required to use them. We offer custom workshops throughout the year on a wide variety of instructional media topics.
Learning Management System
The online structure that holds your course together is the Learning Management System (LMS). Our LMS has been designed to handle all of the Division's LMS needs so you won't have to figure out how to handle student registration, delivery of the lessons, quizzes, and gradebook functions on your own. Go to https://class.ucanr.org// to see an ANR LMS in use today.

Resources
Our ultimate goal is to empower faculty and staff to produce engaging learning materials, using software and equipment that are available to everyone. But we also recognize that our Division Specialists, Advisors, and staff already have plenty to do with their existing job responsibilities. On a recharge basis, our team is available to help you with the course you have in mind, producing individual pieces or if necessary the entire course. There is no charge for the use of the LMS.
Our staff are available to meet with faculty who want to enhance presentations, infuse courses with technology, improve their use of existing technologies, or take existing courses to an online environment.
