Location
The Symposium will be held in Davis, California at the University of California, Davis, Activities and Recreation Center Ballroom (ARC) . The city of Davis is situated 10 miles (15 km) west of Sacramento (CA capital), 70 miles (100 km) northeast of San Francisco and 385 miles (620 km) north of Los Angeles. A major airport is located in each city and can be found using the following airport codes; Sacramento (SMF) , San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX).
Downtown Davis features boutiques, bookstores, restaurants, theaters, galleries, and public art. In addition, Davis is located within 100 miles (160 km) of the famous Napa and Sonoma Valley wine regions, San Francisco Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe, and the scenic Central Coast. From Davis, the major table grape production areas can be accessed by driving south on State Highway 99 starting with; Fresno, 200 miles (322 km); Delano, 259 miles (369 km); Bakersfield/Arvin, 291 miles (469 km); and Coachella, 528 miles (850 km). Napa is located 48 miles (77 km) to the west of Davis on US Interstate 80.

ARRIVING BY AIR
The closest airport is the Sacramento International Airport, located about 20 miles from Davis. Shuttle Services are offered through the Davis Airporter or Super Shuttle for about $20. A cab ride from the Sacramento Airport to Davis is an estimated $30, and taxis are located outside of the baggage claim areas at both terminals. Bus connections are available through Yolo County buses for a minimal cost.
The San Francisco International Airport is about 85 miles (137 km) from Davis. There are bus, train, and airport shuttle connections available between San Francisco and Davis. Driving time varies tremendously depending on traffic, but the trip can take as little as 90 minutes or as much as three hours.
The Los Angeles International Airport is approximately 400 miles (644 km) from Davis. Arrivals into Los Angeles will require booking a connecting flight into Sacramento or San Franciso or hiring a rental car. Approximately 40 rental car companies operate out of LAX, with vehicle rental sites located off the airport. Many rental car companies provide phone links inside or near the baggage claim areas on the Lower/Arrival Level of the terminals so travelers can request a free shuttle pick up to reach the rental car sites. Driving time from Los Angeles to Davis varies depending on the traffic, but the trip is about six to seven hours. Be sure to leave plenty of time for your trip!
ARRIVING BY TRAIN
The Amtrak station is located about 7 blocks east of campus in downtown and allows for easy rail connections, especially from the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento.
