Sua Vang has been an Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) educator for 25 years! Over 7500 Fresno County families have benefitted from her nutrition lessons –she has coached them to choose more whole grains, consume lower fat dairy products, eat more fruits and veggies, and move more! Sua teaches
“Eating Smart-Being Active” in English or Hmong. A Vocational Nursing background feeds her passion for health and prevention of chronic illness. Healthy infants and pregnancies are very important to her, and many classes include nutrition during pregnancy and feeding of infants and children. Sua has 5 college-age sons who have grown up enjoying a healthy lifestyle, even so much as making chicken sandwiches with double-fiber bread, and eating stir-fried veggies and brown rice.
Sua had several media appearances in 2010—4 one-hour long nutrition lessons on Hmong Live! TV Network, plus a part in a Public Broadcasting Station episode, “0-5 in 30 Minutes,” entitled Healthy Asian Plate.
If you know of a low-income audience that could benefit from a hands-on, fun, interactive series of free nutrition lessons, call Sua to schedule in English or Hmong.
