Calling all Club Officers, Junior Leaders, and Teen Leaders!
The 2011-2012 All Star Team invites you to participate in the annual Leadership Training Day on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Sutter Middle School in Fowler. Lunch will be provided. Gather information on becoming a more effective club officer and leader through the responsibilities and opportunities available. Learn to effectively lead a group discussion and listen to motivational speakers. Don't miss this fun and informative day!
Junior and Teen Leadership
The minimum age/grade requirement for a Junior Leader is 12 years old or 7th grade by December 31st of the program year. Teen Leaders must in 9th grade or 14 years old by December 31st of the program year. Only the age criterion applies for home schooled members. 4-H Leaders are encouraged to carefully select their Junior and Teen Leaders. Selections should be made on factors such as skills, knowledge and experience in the project area and should not be based family relationships. Junior Leaders should act as assistant leaders; they should help plan and run meetings and assist members in learning new skills. Teen Leaders should serve as the primary leader for their project group, with the assistance, guidance and supervision of their adult volunteer leader.

Hi-Citizenship (Hi-C) is a county-wide project for 4-H members in 7th grade and up. The group completes a community service project, discusses important 4-H issues, plans fun events for the group, and gives members the opportunity to socialize with members from all over the county. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every other month (in conjunction with County Council meetings)
2012 National 4-H Conference
WHERE: National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland
4-H members (ages 15 and above), volunteers, and staff are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity for National 4-H programming. 4-H Fair Leadership Opportunity!
Jr. Department Heads- a Jr. or Teen Leader with interest and expertise in a particular area supervising and representing the department. Call the 4-H office 600-7285 if you are interested.
