County Judging Day
Fresno County 4-H Judging Day is held every year in March, usually on the first Saturday. There are three judging contests held simultaneously and members participate in all three--Animal Science, Consumer Science, and Plant & Mechanical Science. Members judge a group of four similar items and place them 1st-4th. Their placings are compared to the placings made by the official judge. Points are awarded pased on the accuracy of their placings and the event awards are given based on overall within each contest. Most years, the Fresno County 4-H Horse Judging Event is held immediately following County Judging Day to make it easier for members to compete in both events.
The 2012 Fresno County 4-H Judging Day will be held March 3, 2012.

Please be advised that club teams are made up of the three overall highest scoring individuals within an age group from each club. These overall scores to determine team members are a composite of scores from all three contests. The highest scores from these teams within each indivudal contest earn team awards. As a result, one individual not included in a club team may have scored higher on an individual contest than another individual from the same club who was included on the team. The awards system is rather complex. If the above awards lists do not contatin information you need, please contact Melanie Curtis by E-mail at makwast@ucdavis.edu or by phone at (559) 600- 7285 for additional reports.
