Carroll is a Laboratory Technician, University of California, Davis; Luigi Chiarappa was formerly a Research Plant Pathologist for the Di Giorgio Fruit Corporation and is now with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, Italy.
Graft transmission studies provide further evidence that quick decline pears is caused by a virus and that, under experimental conditions, it cause the disease in the absence of pear psylla.
