The FileVault is a place where you can put files that you want others to see. Typically this is a good place to place files that are too large to send via e-mail. There are three sections of the FileVault:
From the main menu click the 'add a file' link. You will see the following screen:

Click 'Save Your File' to send the file. Depending upon the size of your file, and your connection speed, it may take a long time to send the file. You can calculate the time it will take to upload your file using our File Uploade Calculator.
After the file has been uploaded, you will see a screen similar to the one below. It will have directions for accessing the file.

When you upload a file, you will receive 2 e-mails from the system.
One e-mail will allow you, or others to access the file. You can forward this e-mail to anyone whom you want to be able to download the file. If the file is password protected, people who receive the e-mail will NOT need to know the password.
The second e-mail will allow you to delete the file. This is the only way you can delete a file you have placed into the system. Do NOT forward this e-mail to others. This will actually remove the listing from the main page of the FileVault, as well as removing the actual file. A file that is dropped from the main menu because the expiration date has passed is not deleted, it is only removed from the list. Anyone with the e-mail can still access the file.
There are two ways to view files that are in the FileVault system.
Using the e-mail is probably the easiest. When a file is added to the list you will receive an e-mail which will provide access to the file.
Sample e-mail. Forward this to people you want to have access to
the file.
The other method is to go to the main menu of the FileVault, and click on the file name. If the file is password protected, the person requesting the file will need to know the password in order to access the file.
Both Windows XP Professional and Home Edition now include a 'zip' utility that you can use to compress files and folders on your hard disk. This will take folder and combine all of the files into one- allowing you to upload just one time into the FileVault.
This will make a combined folder, identified by a zipper icon, which displays the same name as the folder you started with. You can also make a combined folder from scratch, by following these steps:
Open the new compressed folder and drag files inside that you would like combined.
This is provided as a sharing tool for those creating PowerPoint presentations.
It allows you to simply download the PowerPoint presentation and modify them for your specific needs. To view the PowerPoint Template area select the "PowerPoint Templates" link. You may choose to view the list by "Program Area" or by "Normal View" by selecting the respective links.
Only ANR employees may use the PowerPoint section of the FileVault . It is limited to PowerPoint Presentations only.
Adding a PowerPoint Template work in the exact same way as adding other files to the File Vault. The only difference is you need to select the Add to PowerPoint Library checkbox. Once the box is checked the Program Area list appears. Select the appropriate Program Area and Save the file.
When a file is uploaded, two e-mails will be sent to you. One will give other users access to the file. The other e-mail can be used to remove the file prior to the expiration date. This e-mail is the only way to remove a file prior to the date it would normally be removed.

To delete the file, just click on the link contained in the e-mail. Then verify the deletion. Once files are deleted, they cannot be restored.
