		<description><![CDATA[The California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) requires that employers of &amp;ldquo;mandated reporters,&amp;rdquo; as defined in CANRA, promote identification and reporting of child abuse or neglect. UC&amp;rsquo;s new policy related to reporting of child abuse and neglect will become effective May 25, 2013.
This policy describes the legal requirements that UC is obligated to implement and enforce. Now identified as &amp;ldquo;Grievances and Appeals,&amp;rdquo; the revision describes how the UC Academic Personnel Manual (APM) Section 140, &amp;ldquo;Non-Senate Academic Appointees/Grievances&amp;rdquo; (http://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel/_files/apm/apm-140.pdf) is implemented in the ANR environment.

		<title> New policies proposed on accommodations for nursing mothers</title>      
		<description><![CDATA[As part of the University of California&amp;rsquo;s commitment to support family care-giving responsibilities, the University proposes to establish Staff Policy 84 Accommodations for Nursing Mothers. 
Under the provisions of Staff Policy 84, the University will provide appropriate sanitary and private space for breastfeeding purposes, in close proximity to the nursing mother&amp;rsquo;s work area.  The University also will provide a reasonable amount of time for lactation breaks.

		<description><![CDATA[The Department of Botany and Plant Sciences and Agricultural Operations at UC Riverside are hosting a Citrus Field Day for growers and industry members on Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

		<description><![CDATA[Hansen Research &amp;amp; Extension Center is soliciting proposals for new and continuing projects for project year 2013-14 for its competitive grants program and on-site research projects.
The UC Thelma Hansen Fund will finance research and education/outreach and policy projects through a competitive grants program. Projects need to align with at least one of ANR&amp;rsquo;s strategic initiatives and address one or more of the Hansen Fund goals.
