ANR Federal Annual Report and Plan of Work now online

The 2008 UC ANR Research and Extension Federal Annual Report is now posted on the Divisionwide Planning webpage. The 2010-2014 UC ANR Research and Extension Federal Plan of Work has also been posted. These reports are submitted on an annual basis to USDA’s Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) agency to demonstrate our accountability for the federal funds (Hatch research funds and Smith-Lever extension funds) that UC ANR receives to fulfill UC’s land-grant mission.

Comments sought on furlough/salary reduction options

President Yudof has distributed a letter and summary of options for a Salary Reduction/Furlough Plan. The President intends to present a plan to the Regents at their July 2009 meeting as part of his recommendation that the Regents declare a state of financial emergency.

The three salary reduction/furlough plan options were developed in close consultation with the chancellors and vice chancellors who unanimously agree that some form of furlough or salary cut over the 2009-2010 fiscal year is now inevitable. The President will submit a specific option to the Regents. Whatever option is eventually chosen will be intended to apply to all employees systemwide, subject to the University meeting any obligations under HEERA. In addition, OP Labor Relations will send notice to the systemwide unions.

To provide more information on the salary reduction/furlough plans, OP prepared a list of frequently asked questions.
