Biography
Shelley Murdock is a University of California County Director and Youth Development Advisor specializing in adolescent community participation including civic engagement, service-learning and cross-age teaching. She has a B.S. in dietetics and a M.Ed. in non-formal education from the University of California at Davis and over 30 years experience conducting applied research and working in the field.
Shelley has published extensively in both peer reviewed journals and publications for youth development staff. Very recent publications she co-authored that are related to adolescent community participation include: Building Community Through Teen Led Public Forums, in Community Works; Youth in Community Decision-making: A Study of Youth-adult Partnerships in Journal of Youth Development; and Learning Together: Setting Up for Success, in the Journal of Extension.
