4-H Volunteer Leader Resources Volunteers are the heart of 4-H!
Inspiring young minds to think for themselves. Watching the light bulb click above a youth's head. Witnessing the tears of a victory. Receiving a hug to thank you for your years of caring.
We all have our individual reasons as to why we volunteer, but it only takes a smile on a young person's face to simply remind us of the good we are doing.
In California, there are more than 20,000 adult volunteers making a difference in the lives of 130,000 thousand youth in the 4-H youth development program. Being a 4-H volunteer is a rewarding and meaningful experience for adults as they instill values in youth, become part of a larger family, create better opportunities for their children and other youth, and have fun too!
In addition to making a difference in the lives of young people, volunteers have many opportunities for their own personal and professional development through the 4-H youth development program.
The 4-H Project Leaders' Digest will help answer some of the questions you may have concerning your new role!
